Month of August 2010 - Activities and Events

Every Thursday 6/3-8/26 - “Garden Nights” at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.  Enjoy a stroll through the garden, 5pm-9pm with entertainment, activities, and food and beverages.  Carriage rides available.

Saturdays, ongoing thru the summer: York Downtown Farmers & Artisans Market.  Open every Saturday from 8am to noon at 53 N. Congress  St, with fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs, honey and eggs, crafts and more.

Every Sunday - Free admission to the Museum of York County.

Daily - Feature exhibit “Pirates” at the Schiele Museum. Interactive exhibit for the whole family, thru December.

8/1 - 8/30 - Southtown Riders wakeboard lessons on Lake Wylie & camps run all summer. Day camps for age 6-18, 9am-4pm, $85/day.  Private lessons for any age.  Call 704-288-1660 or visit Southtownriders.com for more information.

8/14 Saturday - Throughout the summer, enjoy Lake Wylie Music Fest sunset celebrations the 2nd Saturday of each month.  Live music, presented from a private dock, to an audience of boaters.  Location: Boyd’s Cove, music begins at 6pm, movie at 8pm.

9/25: US National Whitewater Center hosts Riverboound Race series with a half marathon footrace winding through the trails at the Whitewater center.
