However, if you are looking for a place to settle down and take life at a slower pace then Lake Wylie, South Carolina may be the place for you. Those looking for Lake Wylie Facts will not be disappointed by all the town has to offer. It is located on the banks of Lake Wylie, named for Dr. W. Clover and York, two nearby towns offer many different educational opportunities for those with children. From public to private and elementary to high school offerings it is not hard to find a school to suit your children’s needs.
The lake itself has quite the interesting background. First known as Lake Catawba, it was renamed for Dr. Wylie, one of the founding members of the Catawba Electric Company, in 1960.
