Lake Wylie recreation opportunities abound all about the Lake Wylie area. If you happen to love to take nature walks or love learning the historical facts about our beautiful countryside then the parks that surround Lake Wylie are just for you. Take Kings Mountain State Park, for example. This park was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corp during the time of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Kings Mountain has everything from campgrounds and a great number of hiking trails to a Living History Farm and even features two fishing lakes complete with boat rentals. Adjacent to the park is the Kings Mountain National Military Park where a major Revolutionary War battle took place. Other area parks include the Andrew Jackson State Park and the Landsford Canal State Park.
Lake Wylie recreation doesn’t stop there. Golfing is a pastime highly enjoyed by many people in the Lake Wylie area. Whether it be the River Hills or Spring Hills Country Club you can tee it up on lush beautiful greens and enjoy a leisurely day on the course. Other area golf courses include the Tega Cay and the Carolina Downs Golf Courses both of which have a lot to offer to those just looking to putter around. Lake Wylie recreation at its finest can be summed up by one word, water.
The lake itself offers everything from water skiing to taking a boat out on the lake for some restful drifting. Fishing is another Lake Wylie recreation favorite. Whether you choose to sit on the bank and cast out or rent a boat from one of the many marinas that can be found surrounding the area and drop a line in you will find that you will do more than just wet your line.
There are many other recreational opportunities as well, from the Carowinds, a large theme park located in nearby Charlotte, to the many different collegiate basketball games that take place within easy reach. You will find that Lake Wylie recreation has many faces and can appeal to anyone no matter what they are looking for.

My family and I had a chance to go to Kings Mountain last year. It was gorgeous! The people around Lake Wylie are just great. It was a very memorable vacation and we are looking forward to going back soon.
Wow! This looks like it would be a great vacation spot let alone a nice place to settle down. It sounds like there is tons of stuff to do close by. Great article and good looking website, by the way. You got me hooked!
You captured the feel of the area and all the fun you can have. My family took holiday here last year and it was beautiful. Good job.

Was checking out southern vacation spots and came across your site. kudos! BTW can anyone recommend some historical hotspots worth checking out? My hubby’s a big history buff. Thanks!
Sounds like I better make reservations in advance… Lake Wylie is a beautiful place. My family has been vacationing there for a few years now. The kids love going to Carowinds, but my favorite is the golfing. You guys and gals won’t be disappointed!
Carolina Downs is a wonderful course. I thoroughly enjoyed my golf getaway when I visited your neck of the woods. Next time I think I will try my hand at Tega Cay.
The living history farm is a great place to visit and gives you a feel for what life was like in yesteryears. My husband and I loved our visit and with the scenic drive within the park it was great.
Sounds like a great place for my wife and I to visit while we are on the road. She likes all that history and I can hit the green. Thanks
